This is a true funny story.

I needed a new bank in 1984 that had a drive thru and certain amenities. So I found a bank called Eastchester Savings Bank in Pelham New York.

It was an OK bank and then one day I got a letter in the mail saving that North Fork Bank in Mattuck Long Island New York on the North Fork of that island, had bought and merged with Eastchester Savings Bank and although my money was safe and the same people and building were the same, the company was new and the name was changed and all contracts were broken. And they changed the name of everything to North Fork Bank.

And when I would say the name North Fork Bank women would ask me not say say dirty or rude words!

I then have to explain the twin forks of Eastern Long Island was called The South Fork with Montauk Point and the North Fork with Orient Point

A few years ago, I got a letter from my bank saying the very same thing.

Capitol One Corporation, which got immensely rich with it's honest credit card business, got tired of doing business with other banks and decided they were rich enough to buy and own their very own bank!

The letter said that Capital One Corporation had bought North Fork Bank and was now being renamed Capital One Bank!

The commercials with the raiders and vikings and pirates had raided my bank and now was in my wallet and bank account!

As the Television commercials say over here, "What's in your wallet?" What! It's Capital One Bank who's in my wallet!

AYE MATEY ! AAArRRGGHHHHHHHHHH! Shiver me timers up the bligh! Agh!
